Wow! Sure am glad we live in Missouri where the weather is soooooo stable!! That snow was beautiful today, on the 20th day of April, 2021!!! Not exactly what we've been waiting for but hoping it is the last one of the season!!!! I started a blog a month ago and after I got it all written (all three paragraphs) and proof read and then proof read again, I tried to create it and lost the whole darn thing. SO, needless to say, I've been too busy to try again with the same results;)
We HAVE been busy; planting, watering, fertilizing, pruning and repotting. Everything is looking spectacular and we are ready for another great season, just have to get through these next few nights of FREEZING weather!! We think it's still plenty early for planting your main garden, remembering that our frost free date is still around May 10th, but still plenty of time to plant seed potatoes, onions, broccoli, cauliflower, cabbage, lettuce and all your early garden seed like beets, carrots, kale, lettuce, radishes, etc. We did finally put our tomatoes and peppers out for sale the other day as so many were wanting to get them early. I'm afraid they wouldn't be looking too good by now if they got planted out, it's supposed to get down to the mid 20's tonight and tomorrow night!! It's SO tempting to have several warm and wonderful days and think that winter is over, but we know how mother nature likes to fool us.
Since the pandemic we have not had an official open house like we normally do, but be assured we ARE open and waiting to see you. We have the usual business hours, Monday thru Saturday from 8 til 5:30, and Sundays in May from 1 to 4. Stop in and see us, there's so much growing and I'm sure some of it would love to go home with you. Looking forward to another great growing season!!
